Poet-Philosopher of Consciousness

Arthur Rana / Miroslav Smolicek

I was born in Slovakia and I currently live between Hitra island (Norway) and Piestany (Slovakia). I am a poet, thinker, and polymathic autodidact. My life moves between two poles: manual labor in a factory and the exploration of the phenomenology of consciousness. Why? May be In the silence of monotone work, within the rhythm of my body, arises a space. This is where my poems are born. I create under the pseudonym Arthur Rana.

Philosophical Direction

My work connects poetry, philosophy, psychology, physics and phenomenology. It is not about aesthetics, but about researching consciousness through creation. I draw inspiration from the philosophical line of Berkson, Heidegger, Buber or Patocka, as well as from my own transcendental experiences. This have become the foundation of my poetic cycle Black Prayers.

Where am I now?

I am in a state where I allow myself to live and think as a poet and a philosopher. Whether awake, dreaming, in deep sleep. The same laws appear.

The poet is not the one who speaks beautifully, but the one who creates a new way for Being to speak.
