Poet-Philosopher of Consciousness
Arthur Rana / Miroslav Smolicek
I was born in Slovakia and I currently live between Trondheim (Norway) and Piestany (Slovakia). I am a poet, thinker, and polymathic autodidact. My life moves between two poles: manual labor in a factory and the exploration of the phenomenology of consciousness. Why? May be In the silence of monotone work, within the rhythm of my body, arises a space. This is where my poems are born. I create under the pseudonym Arthur Rana. Symbol of my memory and transformation.
Philosophical Direction
My work connects poetry, philosophy, psychology, physics and phenomenology. It is not about aesthetics, but about researching consciousness through creation. I draw inspiration from the philosophical line of Berkson – Heidegger – Buber – Patocka, as well as from my own transcendental experiences. This have become the foundation of my poetic cycle Black Prayers.
The poet is not the one who speaks beautifully, but the one who creates a new way for Being to speak.
Where am I now?
I am in a state where I allow myself to live and think as a poet and a philosopher. Even I though it has always been within me. It feels like a new position of being. Not only in moments of creative ecstasy, but also in the ordinary flow of work. Whether we are awake, dreaming, in deep sleep, or in a transcendent experience, the same laws appear.
